The NAWS Soccer Tournament 2006 final program was held at Wyatt park, Lidcombe on Sunday 24th September.
Following is the Final result of the NAWS Annual soccer tournament for this year.

PAST EVENT: NAWS ANNUAL SOCCER TOURNAMENT 2005

NAWS 2005 annual soccer tournament final  program was held on Sunday 25th September at 11:30AM at Wyatt park, Lidcombe. The final day event was full of activities and exciting final game between Lidcombe Gorkha and Himalaya Youth club.

The 30+ game was kicked off around mid-day. It was an exciting game and all the participant  played more than  what one could expect. The game ended up with 4-3 score. After the 30+ game,  the final game between Himalayan Youth Club and Lidcombe Gorkha ended up with 3-1. Both team played so competitively. It was noticeable that their level of proficiency has grown so much in last few years. With no doubt, Himalayan Boys played so well, they secured this years NAWS soccer running Shield.

Some other activities were organised after the final game. We had 50 meter running competition for under 10 years old and 100 meter running for 10-17 years old. Also the crowd screamed and had fun watching the pot (Ghaito) breaking game while others were enjoying the delicious MOMO.

This year, the winner of the NAWS 2005 soccer tournament is Himalayan Youth Club. The runner-up team is Lidcombe Gorkha. NAWS would like to congratulate the winner Himalayan boys. Lidcombe Gorkha played well but we all know where they need improvement for next years game. NAWS wishes all the best to both team for their future soccer competitions.

Additional Information on NAWS 2005 annual soccer tournament

NAWS has been organising soccer tournament every year to encourage Nepalese soccer players in Sydney to participate and promote their skills.  Our aim is to highlight  sportsmanship and fair play as well as to equally promote  and cultivate the values of sharing, optimism, self-fulfilment and success.
